This will be an ongoing review with updates as time progresses. These are my initial thoughts one day in with pictures of course!

The Shoei RF1100 is much lighter and more comfortable than any of my others, and there have been lots of others over the last 30 years. The ventilation is amazing, none of my previous helmets come close. Some with visor cracked still don't provide as much ventilation as the RF1100s visor closed. A great feature to me is also the outside tab to either lock the visor down or crack it for extra ventilation. I have not ridden over 80mph with this helmet yet but up to 80 there is absolutely no helmet buffeting at all. It also provides a larger range of vision than any of my other helmets, not just side to side but up and down as well. The graphics, if you choose to go this route, are mind blowing but do come at a premium price.

It comes with removable breath guard, chin spoiler and a helmet bag. The RF1100 is currently on sale at Cycle Gear and the base solids start at $370 and, depending on what you choose, they top out at $470 which is $30 less than going direct to Shoei. There is also a $25 off coupon on purchases of more than $125 in the current Cycle Gear flyer so you can knock another $25 off the price until the end of the month.

Pictures 1 & 2 show the removable chin spoiler and breath guard, and the provided helmet bag. Picture 3 is the outside tab to crack or lock the visor. Picture 4 is the 3 air intakes. Picture 5 is the 4 air exhaust ports and the built in lower lip and ridge molded into the helmet shell to eliminate buffeting. Picture 6 is supposed to be a close up of the graphics to show the level of detail but I believe my cell phone camera failed at this. Pictures 7 and 8 are of the 2 dragons painted on my helmet.
