The winner of our Best of 2011 nominations gift card giveaway is Mark Broadstreet of Murfreesboro. Mark had this to say in repsonse to learning he won.
"I check out the site 2-3 times a week. I really appreciate the info, articles, and links. Thank you for the gift card - I'm going to get some freeze out gear."
Thanks for the kind words Mark and I'm glad you'll be making good use of the gift card. Now that we have all of our nominations together voting will start in the next couple of days. Keep an eye on the site over the next couple of days for the voting to begin. Voting will be open through the end of the year with the winners to be announced on Monday, January 2nd. Thanks again to everyone who helped us pull the nominations together and congrats again to "soon to be named" for winning the Cycle Gear gift card.

For the next few days or so I'll be taking a break from the site. Since starting Nashvilleriders.com nearly two years ago (has it been that long) I've been running the show here nearly solo. Yes Johnny has been a great help and David has also contributed content and I appreciate what they have done here immensly. However there's only so much one person can do before they reach their limit and start getting that burned out feeling.
For my own sake I feel I need to step off the soapbox for a little while and set the site on autopilot. The forums of course will remain online (there's a source of aggravation ) but I'm afraid the news and such I usually post up will be on hold till I get back. Of course if anyone wants to use that "Submit Article" button on the right side of the screen I'll make sure it gets published. In the meantime quit sitting at your computers and get out and ride!

Well 2011 is here, so before we jump into the new year, let's take a look back at 2010. Why a look back? It's an easy way for me to create new content by using old content. What could be lazier?!! Plus, having a look at what worked well (and what didn't) helps me to improve the site and make it more of what our readers want.
Let's take a look at what was some of the most popular articles as well as the some of the most neglected. I'm also going to point out my personal favorites from the past year in the form of articles as well as some of the top comments made on our content. So if you're ready, if you can handle the excitement and pressure, go ahead and click on the read more link to begin your journey into last year.

As the title of the article says, Nashvilleriders.com is now optimized for mobile devices! If you're using an iPhone, Blackberry, Android, or nearly any other kind of mobile device you will now see a mobile version on your small screens. Thanks to an extension from MobileJoomla.com, this will make it much easier for our readers to check out the latest content from their mobile devices.
The forums should also be easier to use and the mobile optimized version actually makes it easier to create posts as well as posting comments on articles and other Nashvilleriders.com content. As I only have access to a small number of devices I would like to ask our readers with mobile browsers to please view the site when you get a chance and post up comments here (or in the forums) and let me know what's better, worse, or entirely broken.
And while we're testing, if you are viewing the site on regular PC and you are noticing formatting issues or other general weirdness when using the site now, please let me know via a comment, in the forums, or emaili at
